Mk II LRRP-UTC:
The Mk II LRRP, featuring automatic helium release valve ("HRV"), UTC/GMT function, and water resistant to 300 meters, exemplifies the spirit of the Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol ("LRRP").
Pronounced "LuRP" the term references the small patrols of soldiers that volunteered to undertake operations deep behind enemy lines to gather intelligence and conduct raids. The most notable LRRP units include the British Army's Long Range Desert Group that operated in North Africa during World War II and the Vietnam era teams that formed the foundation for the reactivated Ranger units.
We started with the requirements manifest in the mission objectives of the LRRP broadening them to encompass the prerequisites of those that personify the same spirit of self-reliance, courage and independence. The design centers around two core design principles:
• Unconditionality: The watch should be able to go anywhere that you will. Toward that end the watch features high water resistance and a helium release valve for whatever you happen to be doing and a GMT/UTC function to help you keep your bearings. The styling is classic and simple with a fine satin finish to ensure that you fit in whether your wearing boots or wingtips.
• Customizable: If you couldn’t change it to suit your style or requirements it wouldn’t be a Mk II timepiece. The LRRP will be available with three bezel options and two case options. The case bodies are available either with spring bar strap attachment or screw-pins. The solid-end-link bracelet will be featured on the former and a natural rubber dive strap for the screw-pin version.
