Actu : Un nouveau patron pour Cartier fin 2012 : Stanislas de Quercize

Après Hermès avant hier, dont les rumeurs de succession se confirme, dans un autre domaine Givenchy il y a 15 jours , Cartier annonçait hier la nomination du Français Stanislas de Quercize comme CEO :

Le groupe Richemont, propriétaire de la société Cartier, a annoncé lundi la nomination du Français Stanislas de Quercize comme nouveau patron du célèbre joaillier de la place Vendôme, à Paris, à la fin 2012. Dans un communiqué, Richemont précise qu'il va remplacer le directeur général exécutif de Cartier, Bernard Fornas, qui a eu 65 ans ce mois-ci.

Cartier est la plus grosse filiale du groupe Richemont, qui compte de nombreuses marques de luxe, comme Van Cleef & Arpels ou les montres Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Stanislas de Quercize était directeur exécutif de Van Cleef depuis 2005 et il continuera à y assumer ses fonctions jusqu'à son arrivée chez Cartier en fin d'année. Entré dans le groupe Richemont en 1989, il a travaillé dans des filiales comme Montblanc, Alfred Dunhill et Cartier, où il a été président de Cartier États-Unis.

Chez Van Cleef & Arpels, Stanislas de Quercize sera remplacé par Nicolas Bos, actuellement directeur de la création de la maison et patron de Van Cleef & Arpels Amérique du Nord.

Johann Rupert, PDG de Richemont, a indiqué pour sa part que "durant la dernière décennie, Bernard Fornas a dirigé Cartier de manière très professionnelle. Il a été responsable durant cette période de la stratégie de croissance de Cartier et a supervisé son expansion géographique, notamment dans les nouveaux marchés en Asie". Bernard Fornas continuera à avoir un rôle de conseiller senior auprès du groupe, et travaillera en étroite collaboration avec M. Rupert et avec Richard Lepeu, directeur exécutif. Il restera membre du comité directeur de Richemont.

Stanislas de Quercize devrait également être nommé prochainement membre de ce comité directeur.

Richemont, un groupe contrôlé par des capitaux sud-africains et coté à la Bourse suisse, est considéré comme le numéro 2 mondial du luxe derrière LVMH. Le groupe est divisé en unités d'affaires : les maisons de joaillerie (Cartier et Van Cleef), la haute horlogerie (Piaget, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Baume & Mercier, Vacheron Constantin, Officine Panerai, A. Lange & Sohne et Roger Dubuis), le prêt à porter (Chloé), ainsi que la maroquinerie (Lancel).

Mr de Quercize is currently Chief Executive Officer of Van Cleef & Arpels and will continue in that role until he assumes his new position. Since 1989, he has had an extensive career within the Group, having worked with Montblanc, Alfred Dunhill, Cartier – where he rose to be President of Cartier Inc. in the United States – and, since 2005, Van Cleef & Arpels.

Mr de Quercize will be succeeded as Chief Executive Officer of Van Cleef & Arpels by Mr Nicolas Bos, currently Creative Director of Van Cleef & Arpels and Chief Executive of Van Cleef & Arpels North America.

Mr Fornas will continue to have a senior management role within the Group, working closely with Johann Rupert and Richard Lepeu. He will remain as a member of Richemont’s Group Management Committee. In due course, Mr de Quercize will also become a member of the Management Committee.

Je pense que c'est la retraite pour l'un des artisans de succès actuel de Cartier, Bernard Fornas ! Elle est méritée, mais m'est avis que son remplacement ne sera pas si simple.
