“Forward To The Past”
…..Bell & Ross, the early years, c1994, the original press photo, and inspiration.
A couple of months ago I was fortunate to see the early watches that Bell & Ross created, the timepieces that were by Sinn.
Models such as the Space 1, 2 and 3, the M1, the GMT versions and the Pilot series. An array of real old skool watches that have since influenced Bell & Ross over the past years.
I was amazed at seeing the collection together, as I had only previously seen the odd watch displayed, or a photo somewhere.
So on my last visit to Paris HQ I decided that I wanted to see this rare collection again, to write about it and take some pics, I too managed to borrow the original brochure that B&R produced to go with these magnificent watches, which made for nostalgic reading indeed.
Having spent several intimate hours with these watches, I made up my mind on which are my favourites and which I would love to own!
I have photographed them, worn them and indeed pondered over trying to find a piece to own too.

"Years of technical progress have produced 3 benchmark mechanical chronographs for pilots at the frontiers of progress.
1983: the German astronaut Reinhart Furrer wore a Space 1 model which became the first self-winding chronograph to be carried into space
(Spacelab mission). Bell & Ross are now re-issuing this collectors piece.
1993: the first development of the Space 1 model resulted in the Space 2 Chronograph. This model features the same technical characteristics
in a much more compact titanium case.
1999: The ultimate version of the Space 1 model, the Space 3 Chronograph. Integrating all the bell & Ross technical expertise in precision
micro-mechanics. With its patented retractable crown (T-crown system) and integrated pushers, the Space 3 offers technical solutions adapted
to the extreme conditions encountered on a space mission."
